About Brock’s Gap Training Center (BGTC)

BGTC is a member-managed organization that is chartered to support our Second Amendment rights by:

  • Offering educational, training and developmental opportunities to the public.
  • Promoting safe handling of firearms during target shooting and related activities.
  • Offering supervised competitions in a multitude of shooting disciplines.

Preferred candidates for membership are known or trustworthy individuals who have demonstrated an ability to use firearms responsibly and safely and who are able and willing to contribute to the mission of BGTC.

Membership Requirements

To become a member, you must:

  • Possess a valid Concealed Carry Permit, which is used as a background check.
  • Have a valid driver’s license.
  • Be legally able to possess and acquire firearms.
  • Attend a Membership Readiness Orientation (MRO) to learn the rules of the range and demonstrate your safe firearm handling skills.

While not a requirement, applicants are highly encouraged to join a gun rights advocacy group such as the NRA, Gun Owners of American or the 2nd Amendment Foundation

Dues Structure

The membership year runs from June 1 to May 31. If you join after June 1, your annual fee will be prorated so you only pay for the remaining months. For example, joining on December 1 means you’ll pay 50% of the annual fee. The following fees apply to become a member:

Annual Membership Fee

The annual membership fee is $435, covering range access from June 1 to May 31. Access to the 1,400-yard range is included.

Range Maintenance Fee (RMF)

BGTC is a volunteer‑run organization, and each member supports the range either through volunteer time or the annual $200 Range Maintenance Fee (RMF). Completing 16 volunteer hours during the membership year reduces the RMF to zero. For new members, the RMF (and the required volunteer hours) are prorated by quarter. For example, if you join on December 1, your prorated RMF would require 8 volunteer hours instead of 16. This system ensures the range is well maintained while giving every member a fair and flexible way to contribute.

Assessment Fee

A special $50 assessment fee was approved by the general membership on June 1, 2025. This assessment will apply until removed by the board. Individuals joining BGTC during this time will not incur this fee until their first renewal.

Application Fee

There is a $150 application fee. This fee, however, is currently being waived until December 31, 2026.
