About Brock’s Gap Training Center (BGTC)

BGTC is a member-managed organization that is chartered to support our Second Amendment rights by:

  • Offering educational, training and developmental opportunities to the public.
  • Promoting safe handling of firearms during target shooting and related activities.
  • Offering supervised competitions in a multitude of shooting disciplines.

 

Preferred candidates are trustworthy individuals who handle firearms safely and responsibly and who are willing to contribute to the mission of BGTC.

Process to Join

If you wish to join, please register for a Membership Readiness Orientation (MRO). An MRO is held once a month, and attendance is required.

Once you’ve demonstrated safe firearm handling at the MRO, the rest is quick. Your name goes to the Board of Directors for approval, and then the New Membership Director will email you instructions to submit your membership application. After your application is reviewed, you’ll receive a prorated invoice by email. Once you pay online, your ID and gate card will be mailed to you.

Assuming timely payment and mail delivery, you should have your credentials in about a week.

Register for an MRO

Membership Requirements

To become a member, you must:

  • Be legally able to possess and acquire firearms
  • Attend a Membership Readiness Orientation (MRO) and demonstrate safe firearm handling
  • Be approved by the Board of Directors
  • Provide a valid Concealed Carry Permit (used as a background check; required for the initial application only; out-of-state permits accepted)
  • Provide a valid driver’s license

While not a requirement, applicants are highly encouraged to join a gun rights advocacy group such as the Gun Owners of America, NRA, or the 2nd Amendment Foundation.

  • Matches and events. BGTC hosts 12 recurring matches, including IDPA, USPSA, Steel Challenge, PCSL, NRL22, High Power, and Precision Rifle, plus training classes and special events. See the match schedule.
  • Member discounts on matches and events.
  • Free FFL transfers through a member-provided FFL. Details
  • Bring guests. Members may bring guests to shoot with them (see BGTC Rules).
  • New member referral credit: $50.
  • A safety-first community. Members share the work of running the range and hold each other to a high standard of safe, responsible firearm use.

BGTC's membership year runs June 1 through May 31. Your first year is prorated, so you only pay for the time remaining in the current membership year.

All memberships renew on June 1. What you pay depends mainly on whether you completed your volunteer hours during the year.
